Jamie Oliver`s TedTalk on Child Obesity
A big ambassador of healthy food is Jamie Oliver, who won a Tedtalk Award in 2010 for a new initiative to combat child obesity. The award is intended to allow prominent people to articulate “one wish to change the world.” His wish is for everyone to help create a strong, sustainable movement to educate every child about food, inspire families to cook again and empower people everywhere to fight obesity. Ingredients:
- 8 ounces uncooked spaghetti
- 24 ounces marinara sauce
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- Grated parmesan for topping
- Some basil leaves, cut for topping
Meatballs:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/3 cup seasoned dry bread crumbs
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Directions:
- Preheat the oven at 400 F/180 C. Cook spaghetti according to the packet instructions, drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, add all meatball ingredients and mix well. Make 12 balls each around 2 inches thick. Place the meatballs in a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until the meatballs are done.
- Heat the marinara sauce in 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat and add meatballs. Adjust seasoning and cover, cook 2-3 minutes, or until heated through. Serve over cooked spaghetti. Top with parmesan and garnish with basil leaves.
