Random Acts of Kindess Day 17th February

What is the Random Acts of Kindness Day?

Often, the small things can have a big effect on others. A random act of kindness shared between two people can establish a ripple.

And that ripple does not just influence each of these people’s lives but might also echo through them for many years to come.

That’s why the Random Act of Kindness Day is such a great holiday. On this day, people are motivated to make an act of kindness for a family member, a coworker, or a stranger.

A kind of act that is given without any thought of praise or recognition.

When is it?

Anyone who wishes to observe or participate in this holiday can do so by giving a piece of kindness to another person. It is being held on the 17th of February.

Perhaps, celebrating this holiday will set a pattern you can follow for the rest of the year.

What is the Random Acts of Kindness Day exactly?

In case you didn’t know yet, the Random Act of Kindness Day is a national holiday, which has been celebrated in the United States since 195.

But for most countries, it is always a great time to show your care for your colleague, friend, family member, or even a total stranger.

Small gestures can make a big difference and brighten up someone’s day.

Why is it celebrated?

This holiday was known to originate in New Zealand as a day celebrated every year on the 1st of September.

However, since then, it has become an international holiday. On top of that, it has been part of the Random Acts of Kindness Week—started by the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation.

Numerous numbers of research have proved that kindness is contagious.

When an individual acts kindness for other people, it also makes the person receiving it more likely to do the same for others. That could unfold substantially.

Thus, do not think your act of kindness does not matter because it truly does. It can have farther reaching impacts than you can ever imagine.

Why is the Random Acts of Kindness Day important?

Research demonstrates that when an individual makes an act of kindness, their brain releases a hormone called endorphins.

Such hormones only create a wave of euphoria. However, they are also the natural painkiller of the brain. That happens only after one instance of kindness.

  • Dopamine.
  • Serotonin.
  • Endorphins.
  • Oxytocin.

Another research has demonstrated that when a person continues doing good things for others, they will feel a nearly twenty-five percent drop in cortisol.

That drop in cortisol levels can’t just lower your blood pressure levels, but it can slow the body’s natural aging by a small amount.

How many countries support this?
