Women and self-confidence. Here’s the truth – 99% of us women think way too much. “Should I have said that?” “Why are they looking at me that way?” “Do I look fat in this dress?”
If you’ve ever thought about any of these questions, you’re far from alone. And it’s typical gender stereotypes that are killing our self-confidence.
In order to be a “perfect woman,” you have to look this way or act that way. But times are changing ladies!
The perfect woman no longer comes down to a certain visual ideal or personality type. Instead, the perfect woman is you – just the way you are! Why? Because confidence is sexy!
The good news is, confidence is something you can build!
It may take some time, but with the right mindset, you can gain the confidence that you need to empower yourself! But how can you do that when you’re not feeling it?

The Hygg
It may take some time, but with the right mindset, you can gain the confidence that you need to empower yourself! But how can you do that when you’re not feeling it?
1. Fake it till you make it.
Here’s the thing. Self-confidence can be built, but bridges aren’t built overnight. It’s going to take a lot of practice and effort to become the woman you want to be.
But until that happens, just fake it! You’ll be amazed at how other people react to a strong, confident woman (even if you aren’t feeling it deep down).
And once you see how other people react to the new, confident you, your confidence will automatically start to build on its own!
2. Change your mindset.
Your mindset is the only thing that’s holding you back. Instead of looking at the glass half empty, start looking at it half full.
I can get my dream job. I can attract my ideal mate. It’s raining outside? That’s okay, let’s dance in the rain!
When you start radiating positivity and happiness, people will start to gravitate to you, which, again, will help to build your confidence naturally.
3. Change your posture.
This may sound silly, but your posture actually has a great deal of influence on the way you feel – and the way people portray you.
People who stand tall are generally seen as more confident and more successful. It’s a simple change that you can make but will make a huge difference in how you feel.
4. Dress for success.
The way that you dress is an outward display of how you feel about yourself. If you are always dressed in grubby clothes, you’re going to start to feel grubby.
Instead of dressing how you feel, start dressing how you want to feel. Put on your best outfit every day – even if you are staying in.
When you look good, you feel good, and when you feel good, you accomplish more and feel more self-confident.
5. Question yourself.
This may sound counterintuitive – wouldn’t questioning yourself suggest a lack of self-confidence? In some situations, sure.
But when you’re feeling down on yourself, it actually has the opposite effect.
The next time you think, “I am a horrible mom”, ask yourself if there is reasonable evidence to back up the claim and then start looking for evidence to falsify it.
Does your child think you are a horrible mom? Is your child happy? Do other people tell you that you are a horrible mom?
Chances are, you won’t be able to find much evidence to support your claims, and you’ll be surprised how quickly you can boost your confidence when you start seeing the positives instead of the negatives.
Like we said, confidence isn’t built overnight, but if you can change your mindset, you can change your life.
